This Tuesday (26), Motorola presented the Motorola Edge S in China. The cell phone is the first with Snapdragon 870 5G chipset (7 nm). Compatible with fifth generation mobile networks, the SoC is a less powerful high-performance model than the Snapdragon 888, but more powerful than the Snapdragon 865+.
The Motorola Edge S is compatible with 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6, and will be sold in two versions: one with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and the other with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal space. A novelty is the presence of the 'UFS 3.1' storage standard, which is faster and optimized to consume less energy from the devices.
The device features a 6,7-inch IPS screen in a 21: 9 format with 90 Hz refresh rate, 2520 x 1080 resolution and HDR 10 support. On the front, the Motorola Edge S has two camera sensors for selfies: a 16 MP main and another 8 MP dedicated for ultrawide photos. The biometric reader is integrated into the cell phone frame.
Many cameras and large battery
At the rear, Motorola offers four sensors for different scenarios: a 64 MP main and f / 1.7 aperture with support for recording videos in 6K resolution at 30 fps; another with 16 MP for ultrawide shots, followed by a 2 MP lens for deep shots. The latter is a ToF sensor (Time of Flight), dedicated to improve the blurred effect on images captured by the smartphone.
The Motorola Edge S has a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support. Motorola, different from other manufacturers, you still chose to send the plug adapter in the box of the device.
Finally, the gadget is IP52 certified against splashing water and has the traditional 3,5 mm (P2) connector for headphones. The device comes standard with a pre-installed protective film and a protective case.
The device is already on a pre-sale basis in Chinese retail, and the first units will begin to be delivered next Wednesday (3). The Motorola Edge S will cost the equivalent of 250 euros (R $ 1.625) in the model of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, while the variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB goes for 350 euros (R $ 2.275).
