Who has never been angry with Notifications in Google Chrome? This is because as we access tabs on the platform, sites are asking for authorization to send alerts, which often become repetitive. But there is a very simple way to get rid of this inconvenience.

Notifications are authorized and used by websites to notify users of new content or promotions. However, providing for frequent use of the tool, the browser provides options for block these alerts both on the desktop and in the mobile app Android ou iOS.


In addition to being annoying, some of these updates may contain malicious intent. When we access fraudulent websites, they tend to issue notifications that catch users' attention, such as overpromotions, which can facilitate data theft. It is also important to block pop-ups that can lead to malware.

On the desktop

1 - Open the browser page and select the icon of the three balls in the upper right corner;

2 - Select "Settings";

3 - Choose the option “Privacy and security”;


4 - Click on the "Site Settings" tab;

5 - Then, select the option “Notifications”;

6 - Disable the option that allows sites to request to send notifications. In this tab it is also possible to block notifications from specific sites;

7 - If you want to disable pop-ups, it is necessary to return to the "Content" menu and choose "Pop-ups and redirects";

8 - Disable the “Allowed” option.

To disable Chrome notifications on Android and iOS phones the process is the same, just follow the step by step in the browser application, but instead of accessing the "Privacy and security" tab, you should look for the advanced platform settings.
