Musk has been investing in the automotive industry for years to take it to a new technological level through its electric cars. In 2020, the billionaire's company sold around 499.535 units of electric vehicles, leading the market niche globally.

The value represents more than double the units sold per second on the competition list, to Wolksvagen, which has already declared partnership with Tesla in flying car market exploration in China.

Tesla's electric car market share is 17,95% of the total. Wolksvagen is the only competitor that has more than two digits of slice percentage in the sector, with 12,6%.

The records for Elon Musk's company did not stop there. The fourth vehicle created by the company, the Tesla Model 3, is the best-selling electric car model in the world in 2020, with three times more units sold than the runner-up, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. THE Chinese “cart”, however, has already surpassed Model 3 in sales in China.

Tesla's journey into the sector began in 2003, but it was only in 2008 that the company produced its first electric vehicle, the Tesla Roadster. Since then, four electric cars have been developed by the company, which plans to popularize and fully dominate the automotive market for the future.
