The game 'Ratchet & Clank', released in 2016 and exclusive to PlayStation, is available free of charge for PS4 e PS5. You do not need to be a subscriber to PS Plus or anything: just connect your console on the internet, enter the online store and get your copy.

The action is part of the initiative “Play at Home”, That in the first weeks of the pandemic of Covid-19 offered free games to all PlayStation 4 owners as a way to encourage people to stay at home. A year later, with more than 2,4 million dead for the new coronavirus, Sony is doing a new round of “Play at Home”.

'Ratchet & Clank' will be free until the 31st. Developed by Insomniac Games, the game is a remake of the original 2002 game for PlayStation 2. Making 'Ratchet & Clank' free now is also a marketing ploy: its continuation , 'Rift Apart', will be released on June 11 for the PS5.

"We are all hopeful that a light at the end of this long Covid-19 tunnel is emerging, thanks to the tireless work of the medical community and people around the world," wrote Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) President Jim Ryan, in a post on the company's official blog. "Currently, having something to motivate us to maintain social distance is very useful, so we are happy to offer a large selection of games," he added.

Other games will be announced in the coming weeks as part of "Play at Home". Last year, 'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection' and 'Journey' were the free games. In addition to games, Sony created a $ 10 million fund to support independent developers during the pandemic.

“During this moment of social distance, our fans have been using games as a way to rest and enjoy. At Sony Interactive Entertainment, we are privileged to bring this much needed entertainment. We know that this is just a small step, and we are grateful to be able to offer support to our players, communities and partners, ”said Ryan.
