O movie 'Furiosa', a spin off of 'Mad Max: Fury Road', will be “the biggest production recorded in Australia”, besides contemplating several years of the protagonist's history - played by Charlize Theron in 2015. In the new production, she will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy ('The Queen's Gambit'), who will star opposite Chris Hemsworth ('Thor') under the direction of George Miller.
At a news conference held in New South Wales (New South Wales), Miller and Hemsworth confirmed that filming of 'Furiosa' should start in early 2020. At the moment, the director is handling the post-production of 'Three Thousand Years of Longing ', his fantasy film with Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba in the cast.

"This is a saga," said Miller. “It happens over many years, so we will have a lot of different elements for it. But that is all I can say. [The film] will look familiar to anyone who knows 'Fury Road', but it will also be unique in its own way. ” The approach signals a difference in narrative path compared to 'Mad Max', where the plot lived by Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy took its course for two days and two nights of escape from the villainous Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne).
Also according to the press conference and tweets released later, “Furiosa” should position itself as a great benefit to the Australian economy, fostering the creation of 850 local jobs and securing approximately AU $ 350 million (just over R $ 1,5 billion, in the conversion direct) to the country.
In other important statements made by the director, George Miller also stated that 'Furiosa' will be recorded thinking about the cinema ("This is a story I can't wait to see on the big screen"). It is worth remembering, however, that the film is a production of Warner Bros., which recently adopted a policy of releasing its feature films simultaneously in theaters and on the streaming service HBO Max, although a recent decision by the company plans to change that next year.
'Furiosa' is a “prequence”, that is, a sequence that narrates events previous to the predecessor film. Nothing is yet known about his plot, except for the fact that he will address the formative years of the titular character, before the events we saw in 'Mad Max: Fury Road'. However, the confirmation that the narrative of the new feature will take place in years has led some people on social media to speculate some kind of cross between the two films - something that, evidently, nobody involved in the production commented.
'Mad Max: Fury Road' raised $ 376 million at the global box office at its launch in 2,08. It was the first film in the 'Mad Max' franchise to be produced since 2015, when Mel Gibson lived the character in “Beyond the Dome of Thunder”. So the expectations around 'Furiosa' are already quite high.
