Os electric vehicles they are growing not only in sales, but also in size! The newest example of this statement is the Mercedes-Benz EQB, an SUV with an electric motor that accommodates seven people and brings improvements and technology, such as semi-autonomous steering.
Natural evolution of the GLB utility, the car is one of the attractions of the Shanghai Salon, which takes place this week. And according to the automaker's plans, there is a hurry to launch the model in Europe, Asia and the United States. In Brazil, there is still no confirmation of when or if EQB will reach the market.
Mercedes' third electric car unveiled in 2021, the EQB was based on the Progressive Luxury style, applied to the others EVs of the line. Along with the SUV, the manufacturer also has the new EQA - or, if you prefer, the “electric GLA” - and the Eqs, top of the line that has 770 km of autonomy and ultra-fast loading.
And the EQB arrives with interior space comparable to the GLB, registering 4,68 m in length, 1,83 m in width and 1,66 m in height - that is, with enough space for you and several people inside the car to stay more than comfortable.
The model also has up to 1.710 liters of capacity in the trunk, if you turn the second and third rows down, which are adjustable. Thus, the SUV becomes a two-seater car with immense cargo space.

And of course, EQB has a lot of technology. When driving, for example, the model enjoys increasingly common vehicle automation systems (or semi-automatic steering), such as lane assist, emergency braking and rapid detection of objects on the road, even at night, rain or fog. .
In the optional assistance package, there is also the possibility of the car including a maneuver assistant, an “emergency corridor” function - in which the EQB automatically opens space for rescue vehicles in traffic jams - and an advanced alert for reversing maneuvers.
Regarding safety, the EQB has the same protection that resides in the GLB's chassis, enhanced for electrical demands. In the model, the batteries are well protected and assist in the structural function, improving the rigidity and comfort of running, as a result.
What's more, Mercedes created a navigation application (app) that calculates routes according to the range - based on weather, relief and traffic conditions -, in addition to showing the location of recharging points.
Performance and autonomy of the Mercedes-Benz EQB
The EQB will be sold in at least three versions: the European is the 350 4MATIC, with about 280 hp of power and all-wheel drive. The Chinese edition will feature the sports variant AMG Line and its powerful 292 hp, which should take the SUV from 0 to 100 km / h in approximately six seconds.
It will also have more basic versions of the electric SUV, focused on shorter routes and marketed only with front-wheel drive and 100 hp less, but with satisfactory autonomy of 418 km
Remembering that the model is compatible with both public vehicle chargers and domestic outlets, either via alternating or direct current. According to Mercedes, it is possible to recharge the batteries from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
In Europe, the automaker has partnered with different recharge networks, aiming to offer payment and compatibility solutions with more than half a million points around the world.
Will he come to Brazil?
Initially, the EQB will be manufactured for Europe at the plant in Kecskemét, Hungary. China, which requires a partnership with local companies, will have dedicated production in Beijing, operated in partnership with the native BBAC.
In the United States (USA), the car units should only arrive in 2022. There is no forecast for the model to be sold in Brazil, which sells GLB in our market between R $ 250.000 to R $ 300.00.
And Mercedes has no time to waste with the production of the new EQB! The rush is justified by the launch of similar models from other brands, such as Volkswagen ID.6.
