Published between 2009 and 2013 by Vertigo, a DC Comics label, the 'Sweet Tooth' comic accompanies Gus, a boy with deer horns who is born after a phenomenon that has practically devastated the United States (USA) and, consequently, the world . Both the character and a race of hybrid children can help explain what happened.
The official synopsis released by Netflix says: “Ten years ago, 'The Great Crush' caused havoc in the world and led to the mysterious emergence of hybrids: babies born partly human, partly animals. Without knowing whether hybrids are the cause or the result of the virus, many humans fear and hunt them. After a decade of living safely in his secluded forest home, Gus (Christian Convery), a sheltered deer boy, unexpectedly befriends a lone traveler named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie). Together, they set out on an extraordinary adventure through the ruins of America in search of answers: about Gus' origins, Jepperd's past and the true meaning of a home. But his story is full of unexpected allies and enemies, and Gus soon learns that the lush and dangerous world beyond the forest is more complex than he imagined.".
The series has Jim Mickle ('Lunar Shadow') and Beth Schwartz ('Arrow') as showrunners and the actor Robert Downey Jr (Yes the 'Iron Man'), your wife, Susan downey ('Dolittle'), in addition to Amanda Burrel e Linda Moran as producers. Schwartz signs the scripts alongside Mickle, who also plays the role of production director.

Many fans may have no idea, but DC Comics doesn't just publish hero stories. The publisher is also known for bringing several different and interesting plots, be they focused on terror (like 'Heilblazer'), fantastic reality (just like 'Sweet Tooth') or even contemporary and adult themes (like 'V for Vendetta') and 'Sandman').
