A Acer is updating the middle segment of its line of notebooks for gamers. The Predator Triton 300, Predator Helios 300 and Nitro 5 models are equipped with the newly announced 11th Generation Intel Core processors and new GPUs from Nvidia on the GeForce RTX line.
"The new products announced today are just as exciting for us as they are for users, as more powerful processors allow us to take the power management capabilities of our devices further than ever before," said James Lin, General Manager for Notebooks and Products Acer's IT services.
“There is a lot of exciting technology coming to the market right now, and we are able to offer a very well-tailored package for players of all levels. Whether you are a veteran professional or someone investing in your first gaming notebook, this is the time, ”he adds.

Predator Triton 300
The highlight of the line is the Predator Triton 300 (PT315-53), which Acer describes with a “monster” that fits in a backpack or briefcase. With an all-metal chassis, the notebook has an 11th generation Intel Core H series processor running at up to 4,6 GHz, and can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.
There are two display options: a QHD panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate or a Full HD screen with a 360 Hz refresh and a response time of just 3 ms.
To cool all this, the Predator Triton 300 uses the fifth generation of the Aeroblade 3D ventilation system, composed of 89 metal blades with a thickness of 0,08 mm. According to the manufacturer, it produces an air flow 55% higher than that of a plastic fan.
The keyboard has RGB lighting divided into 4 zones, with WASD keys and colored arrows. The Predator Triton 300 has HDMI 2.1 output for external monitor, two ports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 port and a USB-C port with support for Thunderbolt 4.
Predator Helios 300
The Predator Helios 300 is the “brother” of the Triton, with a very similar configuration: 11th generation Intel Core H series processor and up to 32 GB of RAM, but with a different GPU, the GeForce RTX 3070. In this model there are also two options for screen: a QHD panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate or a Full HD screen with a 360 Hz refresh.
In addition to cooling with the 3th generation Aeroblade 5D fan, the 17 ″ model of the Helios 300 incorporates the Vortex Flow design, a “strategically positioned” layout to generate aerodynamic flows that improve GPU and GPU cooling and reduce surface temperature of the notebook.
According to Acer, the Predator Helios 300 is equipped with a “complete set” of USB 3.2 ports, including a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4, which can also be used for connection to external monitors via DisplayPort and for power. There is also an HDMI 2.1 port for connecting to external monitors and a 2 TB hard drive for data storage.
The last of the machines announced by Acer this Tuesday is the Nitro 5. It features the same 11-generation Intel Core H-series processor combo, Nvidia GeForce RX 3070 GPU and 32 GB of RAM in two models, with screens 15,6 or 17,3 inches. Both have QHD resolution with a 165 Hz update, and according to Acer the ratio between the screen size and the notebook body is 80%.
The Nitro 5 has two M.2 PCIe SSDs with 1 or 2 TB of storage in Raid 0. According to Acer, the machine is equipped with the Coolboost cooling system with two fans, a “strategically positioned” air inlet and four outlets, which allows a performance of around 9% better in cooling the CPU and GPU.
A dedicated key, NitroSense, allows the user to choose between predetermined or customized cooling patterns, and also gives access to other settings such as LCD control or sound.
Acer highlights the machine's connectivity options, with an RJ45 (Ethernet) network port, HDMI 2.1 for external monitor, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 and a USB-C compatible with Thunderbolt 4.
The Predator Triton 300 (PT315-53) hits the US market in July, with a suggested price of US $ 1.699 (R $ 8.878). The Nitro 5 arrives in June, with the 15 inch model (AN515-57) costing US $ 1.099 (R $ 5.742) and the 17 ″ model (AN517-54) leaving for US $ 1.299 (R $ 6.787). The price of the Predator Helios 300 was not informed.
