O first day Google I / O 2021, this Tuesday (18), brought several news in applications, tools and operating systems of the company. From Maps to Search and from Android to WearOS, the big tech released changes, updates and even mergers. Check out everything that happened on the first day of the event:

The new “face” of Android
The event more details about the next version do operational system for smartphones, Android 12. The most visible to the user will be the new interface, based on a new version of the design language “Material”, used since Android 5, called “Material U”.
The new version emphasizes elements with more rounded corners and "play" more with colors. A novelty is called “Color Extraction”, which analyzes your Wallpaper and modify the colors of the interface according to the dominant colors in the image, creating a personalized “theme”.
The first beta version of operational system Android 12 was also announced during the event. Besides interface changes, with a more “friendly” and personalized design language, the system also brings news in privacy and usability.
The new version, as well as or iOS, will provide more details on how apps are using their data and allow users to choose what information can be accessed.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of the company, listed some of the achievements of the GPS, such as the addition of 150 kilometers of cycle paths and some functions related to Covid-19, and went on to the two main novelties: “eco-friendly routes” and “Safer Routing”.
The first focuses on more environmentally friendly route adjustments. The second new on Maps will use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze traffic conditions, weather and roads to determine points that are most likely to pose a risk to your safety - a route has very sharp turns that can force you to brake harder or more often, for example .
Source checking tool
Searches Google also received a new tool to assess the credibility of the source. Now, the list of responses to the survey presents an option that allows the user to check the source of the information.
“About this result” started to work earlier this year. By clicking on the three dots that appear near the result, some details appear to check the site.
The list includes the description of the source, when it first indexed on Google and whether the connection to that site is secure. This May, the company started to release the “About this result” in all the languages found among the results.
Smart Canvas is a set of new features for Google Workspaces - the suite that includes Docs, Sheets, Slides and other office tools.

The "Starline Project”Is an attempt to bring together highly customized computing and hardware to create what is conveniently explained as“ holographic calls ”. These calls allow - without you using Headsets ou wearable accessories - see, hear and "feel" the person on the other end of the line.
The technology of the project - basically, a special booth, the kind you see in any office coworking - is available on some Google campuses, and the tests have shown promise and attracted the attention of the company's “main business partners”.
Identification of skin problems
Google showed a preview of the dermatological assistance tool powered by artificial intelligence that helps you understand what's going on with your skin, hair and nails.
Through the same techniques that detect diabetic eye diseases ou lung cancer on CT scans, the tool allows people to get more information to the point of identifying dermatological problems using only their phone's camera.
WearOS + Tizen
Google also announced, on the first day of I / O, the merger between WearOS and Tizen, from Samsung. Together the two companies have transformed the operating systems used in their smart watches into a single platform.
The joint work focuses on better battery life, performance and ease for developers to make apps for wearables.
With the battery being the main customer complaint, companies used the advantages of smaller cores and less consumption so that the devices follow the activities day and night, with energy left over for the next day.
